When you work with a coach, it is important to have someone who can understand and help you navigate your path and identify options that you may have never considered. After coaching others throughout my professional career, I became inspired to form my business EmpAct Coaching.
I started working in Human Resources (HR) while living in California. I had a good job and a great son. I knew that being a mother would always be my first priority, but that didn’t mean all of my other aspirations suddenly vanished. I made my way through my undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management at Golden Gate University in San Francisco, class by class, working full-time. Eventually, I decided to continue my education by earning a Master’s Degree in Human Resources, also from Golden Gate University.
When the time was right, I accepted a promotion to Director of Human Resources and eventually became Vice President where I managed the corporate HR department for a Fortune 50 company. It felt great to achieve those monumental milestones, which were a testament to my hard work and dedication.
In addition, I explored new interests and fell in love with the concepts and methods to care for your mind and body. I went on to earn a second graduate degree in Health and Wellness from Maryland University of Integrative Health. The experience was incredible and focused on supporting overall well-being, including mental, physical, and emotional health.
After an amazing career in the corporate world and a fulfilling personal life, I know that positive change is possible. I decided to obtain my coaching certification and create EmpAct Coaching to provide a unique approach to professional and personal coaching. Who you are and how you like to work and learn are integral parts of finding that perfect job or career, and these elements are often overlooked in a traditional coaching environment.
